Susan Gagnier C.P.I., Owner/Director - In 2003 Susan completed a rigorous certification program of Authentic Pilates™ with over 800 hours of one-on-one training and instruction. She was taught by Romana Kryzanowska protege, June Hines, M.F.A., B.F.A. and several other fine instructors, all of whom are dedicated to preserving the integrity of Joseph Pilates's method.

As a 4th degree Black Belt and Chief Certified Taekwondo Instructor, disciplined fitness is a way of life for her. Her dedication won her the Taekwondo America Instructor of The Year Award in 1996.
In 2006, Susan furthered her training and skills by successfully completing her certification as a personal trainer with the American Fitness Professionals Association. She strongly believes that all forms of movement and exercise can benefit from Pilates training.
In 2007-2008, Susan attended and completed a rigorous study of contemporary style Pilates with Body Awareness, Atlanta, Georgia.
With training in both Authentic classical and contemporary style Pilates, Susan utilizes the best of both styles to design a fitness program that best fits the needs of her clients.
Whether her client is post rehab and still in need of some therapeutic help, or is in generally good shape and just wants to feel better, Susan creates the exercise program that allows her client to develop optimal strength and flexibility.
As the founder/owner of Pilates of Amelia, Susan feels she has been blessed to work with a staff of professional, dedicated instructors.

Rosalind "Roz" Cowie C.P.I. -
Roz has been involved in fitness activities all her life, starting with ten years of classical ballet training and participation in track and field in her native New Zealand.  In this country, while pursuing careers in academia and in the federal government, she ran almost everyday and later started, on a part-time basis, teaching fitness in many forms: aerobics, step aerobics, water aerobics, weight training, resist-a-ball, stretch classes, and spinning.
Towards the end of the nineties, she discovered Pilates, and realizing the comprehensiveness of the system Joseph Pilates had developed, quickly did the PhysicalMind Certification in mat and apparatus in 1999-2001.  In the Washington, DC area, she taught Pilates at Quantum Pilates and at a small studio in her home.
When Roz moved to the Boston area she became involved with Peak Pilates and decided to do a second comprehensive certification which she completed in 2007.  She taught at Your Center and Boston Pilates in Cambridge.  With a move north to New Hampshire, she taught at BodyOne Studio in Rye, NH.  She has taught young dances and figure skaters, older clients discovering exercise through Pilates for the first time, and seniors with rehabilitative needs after surgery
She regularly attends Pilates conferences and has taken workshops with Lolita san Miguel and Mary Bowen (Pilates elders, i.e. they worked directly with Joseph.)  She has worked regularly with second-generation instructor, Clare Dunphy, taking the Super Advanced Workshop in 2010 and a 3-day workshop in Discovering Excellence in Pilates with Clare and Brett Howard in 2011.
Roz is committed to providing all populations with Pilates training, from the elite, highly trained athlete, to the ninety year old with joint issues.  She is constantly amazed at the ingenuity of the Pilates system in its unique sequence of movements designed to work the mind and muscle in harmony, improving flexibility and balance, enhancing range of motion, and increasing strength, stamina and endurance.
